Our studio is located at Fontabelle on the outskirts of Bridgetown and includes a change & makeup room, M & F washrooms and plenty of space. Although the studio is not (yet) available for rent we do lease our line of White Lightning monobloc stobes to visiting photographers.
Although we still maintain a darkroom I have to admit it's been a long time since we've used it. Unless clients ask for film all our work is shot digitally with the exception of underwater work which is still shot on 35mm film. Although I have always been a great fan of film the image quality and benefits of digital - namely no film expenses and a quick turnaround time - far outweigh those of film.
The main systems we use are as follows:
PHASE ONE P45+
We use this in conjunction with the Mamiya 645 AFD III. With almost 40 million pixels it produces a RAW file measuring appx. 24" x 18" @ 300 dpi.
Proofing is done on a laptop so there are no polaroid, transparency or scanning charges previously associated with Medium Format photography.
Image quality is second to none and the file size allows extensive cropping with no loss of quality.
NIKON D3
Nikon's latest Pro camera in the 12 Mp bracket is widely regarded as one of the most advanced DSLR's ever made. Lightning fast and sturdily built it is a great camera in all respects and produces superb results.
The 12.1Mp sensor produces a RAW file measuring app. 9.5" x 14" @ 300 dpi.
